The public is invited to join Sheriff Al Lamberti and the men and women of the Broward Sheriff’s Office at a “Sheriff’s Community Day” this weekend in Dania Beach.
Sheriff’s Community Day
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Saturday, May 21, 2011
Frost Park
300 N.E. 2 Street, Dania Beach
During the Community Day, residents will learn more about agency operations and services offered during informational sessions starting at 9:30 a.m. Attendees can see equipment from BSO’s Mounted, Aviation, Marine and Road Patrol units, as well as SWAT vehicles and more. They can gather crime prevention and safety information and sign up for CyberVisorSM, an advisory system that allows BSO to communicate with the public. By registering for CyberVisorSM, those who live or work in Broward County will receive e-mail or text messages from BSO about criminal activity, traffic advisories, upcoming events and alerts about wanted suspects or missing children.
This community event is great for all ages! Children will learn about fire safety, dress up like a firefighter and have an opportunity to meet the BSO mascot, Quiggley. Don’t miss the FREE child fingerprinting and giveaways. For more information about the Sheriff’s Community Day, please call (954) 831-8902.
